Hi Leona,

We will be staying @ Margaret River vineyards this coming spring. Would you by chance know whether/any independents will bring our rented car to where we stay? And what is the extra that we have to pay for such a convenience? Our perception is that only the big boys provide this form of service.

Your articles are "meaty" which comes in handy for car rental consumers, especially in an era filled with generic useless commericalised sites.

Regards, Bussola

Thomas: Thanks for your questions and apologies for the delay, your comment fell under the radar for some reason.
1. No, basic wear & tear from daily usage is expected and will NOT be charged to you as a renter.
2. The main purpose of this statement is to absolve them from responsibility if you drive onto bumpy 4WD terrain where chances are higher the car will get damaged. Very short unavoidable distances shouldn't be an issue but it is up to the insurer how much of a case they want to make out of the fact the accident occurred on a technically unsealed road. Just be extra careful and try to avoid such roads if possible!

To whom it may concern, please note my following comment(s).

1. In terms & conditions of car hire from Bayswater, it says that "$3,000 for each occurrence of damage, or $300 where Standard Cover is selected, or $50 where Top Cover is selected irrespective of who is at fault including: windscreen damage, tyre damage, lost wheel covers, lost keys and defaced decal stickers. ". Since the car may be driving for several days and it is possible to have a minor damage (ie. scratch etc.) on the car appearance. Does the renter need to pay for this kind of normal tear & wear items?
2. Regarding to the statement "Only driving the said car on the sealed road", it is unavoidable that there may be a short distance (a few hundred of meters of unsealed road between the parking area and the main road inside the Austalian national parks. So, the renter has to take the full responsibilty of any kinds of car damage if the car accident is occurred in this short distance unsealed road. Is this correct?

Please make your comment(s) to these questions if any.
