Myself and my wife traveled the City link road on the 29th Dec 2011, to my amazement it cost $13.50 on that toll road, we were only on it for app 15 mins. This is a disgrace not only to people visiting Melbourne but also the residents.

Melbourne Toll Roads, you need to have a look at what you charge, not even Sydney charges this much. It is totally un-Australian, where has common sense gone.
Traveler's be ware, check your route before entering, and beware of the charges.

I have to say, I love Melbourne. But the last time I drove down I got caught in the flow of the traffic and while looking for an exit I must have gone through a toll. I didn't know this until I got a fine in the mail for $100, I can't even recall going near where they said the toll was. After that happened I always flew but once again I have to drive and I am quite worried as I don't know where I have to go until I get there. So I don't know which roads I will be travelling on. For a non Victorian I find this frustrating.

What a whinging set of tarts! I am from the UK and have lived and been all over the world and trust me, Melbourne has THE simplest of toll setups. If you are temporary go online and buy a pass before or even after you travel...............where else do you get the flexibility?!?! Do you get to choose when you pay at a cash toll booth?!? If you are permanent, buy an e-tag that sits in your windscreen and charges you when you use the roads. Even tops your account up automatically if you please. Could it be simpler?!?!

Oh and Dave - 'rat hole of a place'.....................number 1 city in the world mate, remember that when you are back in your small ghost town! Am sure Melbourne will do just ok from the millions who live here and who want to live here without your narrow minded views.

The trouble with Melbourne people is that we have two separate companies who own the toll roads.

Get a 'Citylink Pass' and that gets you on both the Citylink and Eastlink roads

I agree with the other people about all the Toll road but I can tell you that Sydney is even worse. If you have an e-tag you can drive around Australia on that. So can I suggest to everyone if they are driving their own cars then get one of these. The problem still is with the hire cars and getting the right toll passes
